Purpose of Blogging

Wednesday, November 19, 2008 by Jason Gergely
Ok, we have talked all about what a blog is and what it can do for your company. I have even given you some specific examples of some of our clients that use blogging and how they utilize it. However, I haven't really talked about the Purpose of Blogging.

Basically, like I have said before I like to think of a blog as an online diary that is visible by anyone searching. But when talking about Business Blogging, we are talking about a different type of blogging. I mean employees write blogs (a certain number per week), about their job. The purpose of this is to help increase your marketing efforts. Basically speaking, people want to buy from people and when they read a blog about one of your employees' job and your company, they will feel more connected with your company. You are Humanizing your Marketing, reaching out your consumer better and more effectively. Also, blogging helps increase your Search Engine Optimization when people do a search online. By blogging, your company website will rank higher in Organic Google Searches, which is where most of the clicks happen.
