How to Blog

Wednesday, November 5, 2008 by Jason Gergely
When I first started blogging (which was like a month ago), I had no idea How to blog. It was a difficult concept for me to grasp because I was trying to think about it way too much. So what I did was read some blogs that some of my co-workers here at Compendium had posted and it was one of those "Ah-ha" moments my high school English teacher used to talk about.

For anyone starting out blogging, one thing that you have to remember is don't think about it too much. It doesn't matter if it "Proper Speech" because when I think of a blog, I think of a public diary or journal about experiences. You don't even have to make up an outline about what you want to blog about, like you might when writing a large paper or proposal. Just pick a topic... then start typing. Very simple. (but when you are done, make sure you read through you blog post and correct any sentences that might not make sense... because it happens sometimes) A blog shouldn't be to thought out because then you are working too hard on it. Just open your mind and let your fingers go.
