Macworld 2008 starts today, with Steve Jobs giving his keynote later
this afternoon. After last years announcement of the iPhone, everyone
is wondering how Apple will top that. My guess is they won't. However,
a couple of interesting things have happened so far. At CES this year
Apple made the following product announcements:
- 8 Core Mac Pro
- 8 Core Xserve
Weird, why is Apple announcing products prior to Macworld? And then the
mysterious "There's something in the air" billboards started springing
up around the Moscone center (where Macworld takes place) early last
week leading to mass speculation. Right now my bet is that Apple
announces a slim line laptop with 3G net connectivity (perhaps
partnered again with AT&T, perhaps not). And when I say slim, I
mean like under half an inch. Almost a bigger version of the iPhone as
opposed to a smaller version of the MacBook.
As to other announcements, who knows? But like I said, my bets on the sub-compact notebook.
