Spend and Grow Marketshare in a Recession

Thursday, February 19, 2009 by Douglas Karr
According to McGraw-Hill, companies that spend money on marketing efforts during a recession are able to grow their market share an average of 256%!

I finished the book, Perfection of Marketing by James Connor recently and it's a fantastic read - especially for company leaders who don't have a solid background in marketing.  The Search Engine Optimization chapter is especially useful and speaks to the necessity of building a solid foundation of content that's searchable on the web.

It's important to note that executing a marketing strategy as James describes is easy to do with a corporate blog!

Connor is right. It takes guts to spend marketing dollars these days. But if you don't you'll get left behind. Good stuff.

Agree, this is a great read, Doug. Takes the mystery out of brand marketing and marketing campaigns.
