Set Up Google Alerts

Friday, November 14, 2008 by Kristen Raves
Setting up Google Alerts can help you get post ideas.  Those of you who have a blog might be aware of this function already.  However, if you are new to blogging then this is a great tool for you.

To set up Google Analytics go here:  http://www.google.com/alerts

There are 4 easy steps to setting this up.

  1. Type the search term you want to be alerted about.
  2. Select the type of information you want (ex: video, blogs, websites, articles)  I usually select comprehensive which will send you all.
  3. Chose how often you would like the email updates (ex: once a day, once a week, as it happens)
  4. Type in your email address and it will send you a link to your email to approve the Google Alert.  Once you click the submit button, you are ready for your alerts!
