I feel it's time that we start expecting more out of people in all of our networks. Be it family, friends, co-workers, employees, and all those you interact with each day. I've found that expecting more out of people usually brings out the best in them.
Think about the frontline workers in America that we all look through each day as we get our coffee, order a sausage McMuffin, or picking up some groceries. They usually dip to our expectations. Why? Because that is what is expected of them. Less.
As a Big Brother, through Big Brothers Big Sisters, I've witness the same thing out of my "Little." When the world expects so little of him, his family, teachers, and friends, he delivers on that level. When I expect more of him, he steps up to the challenge. Sometimes, suprising even me.
As a write this Blog post to provide insight into small business marketing and Blogging to earn customers, it's important to remember the character behind what makes Blogging work. You have to mean it. You have to already have an organization with strong people that you expect the world of.
Then, you are able to free them to Blog about what they do with the 60 hours of their week that they are with you. Trusting them to tell the story of your business in their words. This is how you can begin to expect more out of your co-workers and employees. "My people won't want to Blog!" Or, "My people can't Blog." Those are both examples of how to expect less.
