Today we released a new rendering service and template language for our blog system. This gives users a level of customization that was not previously available. We based our template language on the Blogger syntax but tried to remove many of the idiosyncrasies, inconsistencies or difficulties that Google introduced after their acquisition of Blogger. The engineering team has spent several months implementing the service, so it's nice to finally get it out the door. Once we've got some better documentation, I'll be sure to link to it so folks can see what I'm talking about. On a huge plus note, the average page render time decreased more than 50%.
