Content wins in the long run!

Sunday, September 27, 2009 by Michael Burton
Leading the Client Success team at Compendium quite obviously means I am sincerely interested in the success of all of our Compendium clients.  The challenge I run into on a daily basis is related to defining that success for our clients.  And more importantly defining realistic success.
Right On
I recently stumbled upon a post that highlighted the five biggest blogging mistakes.  Each point hit home, but the last topic about expecting too much, too soon hit a nerve.  Utilizing a blogging solution does not bring about instant success by making a few, infrequent posts.  Blogging for search means frequent and relevant content (side note - check out one of my past posts for the effectiveness of relevant content)

When kicking off your blogging efforts, take the time to define success.  My recommendation is to define success in time chunks.  Where do you want to be with lead generation, search traffic, click through rate, etc. after the first 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 2 years and on?

By defining realistic goals, you will know when are experiencing success.  In addition, these on-going feelings of success will only motivate you and your bloggers to continue posting and further enhance your search marketing efforts.
