I was listening to the Today show while getting ready for work this morning and Meredith and Matt were talking about President Obama repeating the Oath of Office Wednesday evening.
They went on to discuss whether people will now raise controversy over the acts the President performed before the corrected oath... and argue, were these acts constitutional? The answer, of course, is YES, he actually assumed the office at noon on Tuesday; however, there are some that still might disagree.
That's when Meredith chimed in and said something to the cord.. well, I'm sure this will give bloggers something to speculate about.
I was a little taken aback about this comment. After all, I consider myself an authority on business blogging, I work at a blog software company and certainly don't like being lumped into this negative connotation "bloggers".
The reality is - there are still misconceptions about what is a blog and the difference between individual blogs; mainly used for thought leadership and hobby talk compared to business blogs which serve a search marketing purpose.
As you build the case for blogging within your organization be certain to answer misconceptions up front and explain precisely your goals, intentions and the ROI expected for this marketing initiative. Unintentional remarks like the one above can really leave a sour imprint on decision makers so address it first, because you know someone is thinking it!
