Are your blogs asking for too much of a commitment?

Monday, October 13, 2008 by Megan Glover
If my husband would have seriously popped the question the first time we met... I think that invitiation might have sent me running the other direction.

Much like a personal relationship - professional relationships are earned over time. As marketers, we must always be mindful of the personal interest and trust needed before one can even comprehend a purchase.

Your corporate blogs for instance - for most (if not all) of your prospects your blogs will be their first introduction to your organization.  What kind of messaging do you have on your blogs which serves as an invitation to start the relationship?

I'll tell you what we have: newsletter sign up, Profit from Blogging Webinar and a demo form. Each serves as a distinct invitation for blog visitors to learn more about our organization at the commitment level they desire.

As a visitor of this blog post, what other invitations could I provide that make you want to engage with my organization? Blogging tips/ideas? Feel free to share!
