Should you give your employees Business Cards...or a Blog

Friday, September 21, 2007 by Chris Baggott
I've got to confess that I’m kind of a fan of a Fortune blog called “The Gig” written by Nadira Hira, a 20 something writing about business issues affecting her demographic.

In a post called “If you hired me, recognize me!” she calls out that a cheap way to make employees feel valuable is to give everyone business cards.

To that I say, Give everyone blogging software. Of course since we are in the blogging software business we automatically empower all of our employees blog.

Our newest employee is Kaila Woodside who’s blog is focused on her life moving from being a river guide and living in a tent, to working in a city for a software company. I can’t tell you how thrilled she was when she did a google search on her name and came up number one because of her blog.

This is a true win win for any company or organization. The employee gets to brand herself, feels as is she has a voice and the company benefits from the passion and excitement of her content out on the web….driving search engine optimization and conversions.

All possible through easy to use blogging software. :-)
