Seth Asks: "Death of the Personal Blog?"

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 by Chris Baggott
It's not a giant secret that I'm a huge fan of Seth Godin.  And I think he likes me, but I NEVER expected him to give me such a huge gift on the day before Thanksgiving.

Seth wrote a post today called: Death of the Personal Blog?  In this post he points out that all blogs with big audiences are collective efforts among many authors.

"The best way to increase your ranking as a blogger is to post very often and to have teams of people doing the work."

Now to be fair, In Seth's post he's not necessarily endorsing that having the biggest audience is the goal of the personal blogger.   He's right.  But with Blogs for Business....you bet the primary goal has to be increasing the visibility of the company, the products and solutions and of course the passion of the employees who want to help solve the customers problem.  That's what business is for....getting paid to solve customers problems.   You can't do that if you can't be found.  The way to be found is to do the most talking on a given topic.   As Seth says, that can only be done with lots of bloggers on your team.

That's a blogging best practice!   Happy Thanksgiving!
