RSS ButtonToday I want to talk about RSS. You know that crazy little orange button that you see on the side of blogs and sometimes even on websites. That’s pretty much the international web symbol for RSS Feed.

What is RSS? According to Wikipedia:

“RSS is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines, and podcasts in a standardized format. An RSS document (which is called a "feed" or "web feed" or "channel") contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text.”
The benefit of RSS is the ability to aggregate the content from multiple web sources into one location. It also makes it possible for people to keep up with the latest news quickly and easily. RSS the technology by itself is pretty cool but its really about what you can do with it. Look for my next posts about Feed Readers and Feed Management tools.
