No worries, Concerned Blogger... one important thing to keep in mind when trying to start a blog is that it is not a competition against another blogger, it is a competition against those competitors who are still resorting to old school ad methods.
Your concern entering the blogging world cannot be, "I have to be the greatest writer since John Grisham if I'm ever going to gain a following." Now if you're writing a blog about mystery novels, that may be a concern, but for the other 99.8% of you... you already are the most qualified person to write about your product.

As long as you get those down, you will generate leads and customers will find you... and they will be so happy that they found the exact product or service they were looking for, they won't have time to realize that you're just an ordinary Joe/Jane just talking about what you know best... your business.
